And just like that my university holidays have wrapped up to a close. Wow.I had so many books I wanted to read – the list only grew as the days went by, conversations were had and people were met.

I had so many places I wanted to go – well, I did go to Darwin, Canberra and Albury, plus plenty of little adventures with friends sprinkled in between there.

I had so many things I wanted to do – I may not have started that compost heap, finished the quilt that’s been sitting in my cupboard for years or filled my brain with ALL the philosophy. But I did make a patchwork cushion for a dear friend’s 21st. I did practice my flute for the first time in forever. And I did return to writing here at this blog.

So, maybe it’s not quite that bad.

Although, it is strange how quickly time flies. Is life getting faster as I get older, or am I simply cramming so much in there’s no room for slow?

Breathe. Respire.

Simply be.

Now, that sounds nice.

And perhaps, it doesn’t have to be just nice. Perhaps it can be a part of my everyday routine?

This semester, I want to learn how to take time and be in the moment; to appreciate the blessings around me with my whole heart and being.

As we head back into another semester, I know that it will more than likely pass by as quickly as these holidays have, but hopefully, I’ll be making time to be still amongst the madness.

Time slip and drip

Through obstacles suspended

Hanging gingerly untended

Beside the laughter of the day

Surprises lurk

In darkness murk

Tic Toc Tic Toc

Tic Toc Tic Toc

  1. I find myself thinking about how quickly time passes these days too. All of us ‘adults’ do I guess.
You went to Darwin!? That’s cool 🙂
I heard Miranda came and visited you (I saw the henna on her feet 🙂
Come visit us at Bible study sometime if you’re able to!!

  2. “I was born in ’67
    The year of Sgt. Pepper
    And Are You Experienced?

    Into a suburb of heaven
    Yeah, it should’ve been forever
It all seems to make so much sense

    But after a while
    You realize time flies
And the best thing that you can do
Is take whatever comes to you
    ‘Cause time flies”
